Mark Begor

Mark W. Begor is president and chief executive officer of GE Money – Americas. He joined the company as chief operating officer in January 2002 and was promoted to president and CEO later that year. In this role leading GE Money’s Americas business he also sits on GE’s Corporate Executive Council and is a GE Senior Vice President.

GE Money – Americas is a leading provider of credit services to over 60 million consumers throughout the U.S., Canada and Latin America. With more than 20,000 employees and assets of over $60 billion, GE Money – Americas offers private label and co-brand credit cards and sales finance to leading retailers, corporate cards for commercial customers, personal loans and other products for consumers, and mortgages through brokers.

Begor began his career at General Electric in 1980, was named a company officer in 1996 and GE senior vice president in 2005. Prior to joining GE Money, he was executive vice president, chief financial officer and head of business development at NBC. He led all financial and business development activities, including several large acquisitions, for this $13 billion enterprise. He joined NBC in 1998 as chief financial officer.

From 1995 to 1998, Begor served as GE’s head of investor communications, successfully leading the company's communications with institutional and individual investors. During this time, he was twice named Investor Relations Officer of the Year by Investor Relations magazine. From 1989 to 1993, Begor worked in a variety of roles at GE Plastics, including positions in finance, business development, operations and sourcing. While at GE Plastics, he spent three years in Singapore as the CFO and business development leader. Earlier he was a member of GE’s corporate audit staff and is a graduate of GE’s Financial Management Program.

Begor serves on the board for Kids in Crisis, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting children from abuse and family crisis, and St. Luke’s School. He is a graduate of Syracuse University and holds a master’s degree in business administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
