GE and College Works Painting Offer Consumer Finance Program

Credit program adds value for customers, experience for student business owners

ST. PAUL, MINN. - August 3, 2006 - GE Money’s Retail Sales Finance unit and College Works Painting today announced a new multi-year relationship to provide consumers with revolving credit on painting services under GE's PROJECTLINE SMfinancing program. The program is now available to College Works Painting customers nationwide.

College Works Painting, an internship program established by the National Services Group, gives college students an opportunity to acquire real-world business and leadership skills through business ownership. Since 1987, thousands of students have completed the rigorous program that teaches work ethic, management skills and leadership. The company expects to paint more than 11,000 homes this year.

"We have provided financing to the Home Improvement industry for over 18 years, and we are proud to work with College Works to help homeowners enhance their greatest investment,” said Bruce Christensen, vice president of GE Money’s Home Improvement division. "Being able to extend consumer credit gives these future business leaders the opportunity to learn more about the importance of finance and the value of credit as part of the sales cycle.”

The PROJECTLINE SMrevolving credit program will enable customers to enjoy a fast and easy application process in their own homes. In addition, the card provides competitive rates and flexible terms, and has promotional financing options available.

"As a College Works intern, students implement a marketing program, conduct sales, estimate projects, work with customers, and recruit, hire, and train College Works employees. Essentially, they learn all aspects of running a small business, " said Nancy Meloni, chief financial officer of National Services Group. "Adding financing options for our interns and their customers is an exciting enhancement to our program."
