Interested in when you’ll start paying Interest?

An interest rate is the “cost” of borrowing money. If you have a store credit card from GE Money, you may have signed up for special financing/ promotion. Are you wondering “When do I start paying interest?

Carefully reading your statement can help you avoid unforeseen charges. This month, we’ll discuss Deferred Interest Promotions. A promotional purchase is another word for special financing.

You can determine if you have deferred interest on your promotional purchase, by locating the Promotional Purchase Summary box on your statement. Look to the Deferred FINANCE CHARGE box for the amount of interest that you will be responsible for paying, if your promotional balance is not paid in full by the Promotional Expiration Date. You may have seen this advertised as “no interest if paid within..”.*

Place your cursor on the “?” to see a description of each of these boxes.
